Preserving Rhubarb

Lulu's Farm and the Adams County CSU Extension Office are excited to launch a series of classes on food safety and food preservation to help you maximize enjoyment of seasonal produce and the art of preserving. 


Preserving Rhubarb: Rhubarb is a very versatile vegetable, whether you enjoy it by itself or combined with other foods. This hands-on workshop covers the water bath canning process for preserving rhubarb. Attendees will leave with a jar of canned rhubarb to enjoy later, and recipes and the knowledge to safely preserve rhubarb at home. Class is limited to 15 participants.

Make plans to join us at the ranch Saturday or Sunday in June!  We have a large variety of farm animals to see and touch.  There are Emus, Alpacas, Miniature Donkeys, Horses, Goats and their babies, Miniature pigs, Peacocks, Guinea Fowl, Turkeys, Ducks, Doves, Pheasants, Chickens and of course Dogs and Cats.


 We will also host Rocky Mountain Goat Yoga Sessions.  FREE Hay wagon rides!

Jam Making: You will never want store bought jam again after learning how easy it is to make your own classic jam. This hands-on workshop covers making jam using research-based recipes, food safety guidelines and best practices, and the water bath canning process. Attendees will leave with a delicious jar of jam to enjoy later, and recipes and the knowledge to safely make jam at home. Class is limited to 15 participants.
