Making Pickles

Lulu's Farm and the Adams County CSU Extension Office are excited to launch a series of classes on food safety and food preservation to help you maximize enjoyment of seasonal produce and the art of preserving. 


 Making Pickles: If you enjoy a crisp pickle as a snack or along with a sandwich, come learn how to make your own. Learn the basic science and food safety best practices of the pickling process to produce a flavorful pickle. Attendees will leave with a jar of pickles to enjoy later, and the knowledge and recipes to make more at home safely. Class is limited to 15 participants.

Call (303) 659-3300 to register and pay the $25 class fee. Advance registration is required, just clicking "going" on event listing does not count!

Save the date! Classes in the series are Saturday mornings beginning at 10:30 and run three hours, unless otherwise noted, and limited to 12-15 participants depending upon the class.

Garden Mix Pickling (Curtido Mixto):
Pickled mixed vegetables makes a delicious side dish or a snack. This hands-on workshop covers the science of pickling vegetables, selecting high quality ingredients, and using best practices for food safety guidelines. Attendees will leave with a jar of garden mix to enjoy later, and the knowledge and recipes to make more at home safely. Class is limited to 12 participants.
